Lance decided to be Darth Vadar for Halloween this year! It is really ironic because my brother, Chris, was Darth Vadar when he was in kindergarten!!! Lance had the whole outfit including the light saber, breathing noise maker, and Darth Vadar trick or treat pail.
We started our Halloween festivities on Monday night. Ozarka College had a community wide Fall Family Fun Festival! We had tons of games and activities . . . pick-up ducks, pin the tail on the cat, cupcake walk, face painting, fortune telling, coloring pumpkins, fishing game, obstacle course, haunted hospital, fingerprinting, and a large bounce house! Lance had a blast! I was exhausted after setting up the Kiddie Tent and manning the games for hours.
Of course Thursday was "Boo at the Zoo", so we had lots of Halloween fun then. On Friday during school, the kids went trick or treating in their classrooms. They weren't allowed to have a "party" so I sent some cookies for a special snack.
Halloween night, we went straight to the nursing home to visit Mama Helen! Lance got all kinds of compliments from the residents. Mama Helen was so glad to see him! Scott then dropped Lance and I off at the top of Main Street. We had never been trick or treating on Main Street, so we thought we would try it. We walked all the way down and all the way back up. Lance got lots of goodies. He enjoyed seeing all of the stores that had displays (wicked witch, ghost, scary monster). He ran into his friend, Brandon, from kindergarten. We also ran into Aunt Karen and Megan. After Main Street, we headed to Nana and Papa's house!By the end of the night, Lance was really dragging. He said that Halloween was his favorite holiday! He said his favorite part was trick or treating at the "scary stores" on Main Street. So, I think Main Street will become an annual event for the Pinkstons! We hope you all had a fa-boo-lous Halloween!
