BOO at the ZOO

Lance's big kindergarten field trip was Thursday. His class went to "Boo at the Zoo" in Little Rock. We all left out about 8:15. He was so excited about riding the bus. Several of the parents followed along in their cars. Of course, I had to go - just couldn't miss it!

We got to the zoo and everyone ate lunch on the picnic tables in front of the zoo. Then the teachers gave us all tokens to ride the train. We were allowed to set out on our own and meet back two hours later. Lance wanted to go with his friends Cameron, Brandon, and Jace. All of their parents were there so we all headed off together. The boys were dying to see the rhinoceros.

The boys just kept running from one animal to the other. We could barely keep up with them. They laughed, giggled, ran, jumped . . . all the things little boys love to do! We saw all kinds of animals. The weather turned out to be really nice so the animals were out and about (thank goodness)! We all enjoyed watching the mother gorilla and baby gorilla. The baby gorilla mocked everything the mother did. It reminded us all how alike they are to humans - ha! The funniest part was when the mother layed down to take a nap . . . the baby didn't mock her then. If you look at the picture, the baby was "pouting" once the mother started to take a nap.

After we had finished seeing all of the animals and riding the train, we headed back to the gift shop. The boys all picked out stuffed snakes. They were too cute!

I brought Cameron and Lance back in my car. . . Oh my goodness was that ever an experience! I didn't know little boys could be so loud and talk as much as little girls. I don't think we had a quiet moment in the car. Cameron's mother called while we were driving home and I couldn't hear her over the boys. Cameron then came to our house for a few hours. The boys played soccer, climbed in his clubhouse, had a silly string fight, and played in Lance's room. Lance had a wonderful day! I really enjoyed getting to share his field trip with him. It was also great to see him having so much fun with his friends. He really likes Cameron. I would say he is his best friend! Lance even said he thinks about Cameron "all the time". Kindergarten is the best thing that has happened to Lance!!!
