VBS: Beach Party

Lance and I attended Vacation Bible School at our church this week! Originally, I signed up to teach the kindergarten class, but God had different plans for me. Four days before VBS started, I found out that I was going to be in charge of the 3 & 4 year old class!!! We had 24 signed up and received a few new children on the first day. The theme was Beach Party: Surfin' Through the Scriptures. Lance was in the Kindergarten and First Grade class. He immediately became attached to one of his teachers, Ms. Linda. He also loved "the music lady", Ms. Alicia. The first night he came home and drew pictures for both Ms. Linda and Ms. Alicia. He was also very excited about the flamingo puppet whose name was Flame'! Each day he would sing songs on the ride from VBS to preschool.

As for me, I need a t-shirt that says, "I survived VBS with over 20 preschoolers!" I was completely exhausted each day. I started on Sunday at 2:00 when we went to decorate and ended the week on Friday at 2:00 after we "undecorated"! We got up each morning and headed to the church at 8:30. Then, we would leave the church at 12:30 and head to Melbourne. Lance went without a nap all week. I stayed at work until 6:00 or later each night. Then I would get home and start preparing for the next day. I was up until 2:00 a.m. some mornings just making stuff for my little preschoolers. I made jello, fish shaped sugar cookies, ocean bottles, repaired name tags, and prepared all the craft materials. I was (and still am) completely exhausted, but I had so much fun with the kiddos! I lost 5 pounds this week which was a wonderful added benefit.

I think Lance and I both really enjoyed ourselves this week. I served with some wonderful ladies and met some really great kids! I had a blast with all my preschoolers! I feel blessed to have had this opportunity to help this kids learn more about the word of God and have fun doing so!

Thank you for all you did at VBS! Without you, Rhett wouldn't have had near the GREAT experience that he did.
