Fun at the Fair

The Independence County Fair is almost like a summer holiday for kids! Every kid can't wait until the fair comes to town each summer. Lucky for us, we get to drive by the fairgrounds everyday on our way to work/school. Well, the fair is in town this week so we had to go! We met one of Lance's t-ball friends at the fair. Needless to say, the kids had a blast! Lance rode all the rides over and over again! He had to play a game to win a blow-up Sponge Bob! He also requested cotton candy. He told me he "wanted to try lemonade to see if he liked it" . . . he did! He was so hot that I think he would have liked anything! His favorite ride was called "Raiders". It had Indiana Jones theme music, plank bridges to cross, ropes to climb, and a really big slide. I think that he rode this ride at least 5 times (probably more but I stopped counting).

Of course if you go to the fair, you also have to visit the animals. We checked out the rabbits, chickens, roosters, ducks, goats, pigs, horses, and cows. The kids got to see a baby calf feeding (which they all giggled about). We managed to spend two wonderfully long, hot hours at the fair. We all had fun . . . no matter how old you are you still enjoy the fair!
