It's Time for Soccer!

Lance has become a real athlete . . . first t-ball and now soccer! He had his first practice on Saturday morning. Lance didn't know any of the kids on his team, so he was a little shy on Saturday. He did well at practice. Coach Bron worked with Lance on some foot work.

After we left practice, we "had" to go get a soccer ball and soccer cleats. Papa and Nana had already gotten Lance's shin guards for him. He wanted to go to a "sports store" so we went to Hibbett's. He picked out Nike cleats and a Nike soccer ball! He came home and practiced for a long time on Saturday. Oh . . . and we had to get a "water bottle". We couldn't find one so he picked out a Spiderman Sip 'n' Snack thermos (it holds a snack in the bottom of the thermos).

He had his second practice tonight. We put on his cleats and shin guards tonight. He grabbed his ball and his thermos, so we all headed off to the field. He seemed to be a little more comfortable with his teammates tonight. He can kick the ball pretty far. He just needs to get a little more aggressive. He really LOVES it! Papa came out and watched him practice. We will have our first game on Saturday, September 20th (time is TBA)!

We are looking forward to the soccer season. If it is as eventful as t-ball, we should have a great ride!

And for those of you who are interested in a kindergarten update . . . he is loving it! He is getting better about actually telling us what really happened each day. His teacher and I email back and forth so I know more than Lance thinks that I do. I won't be fooled again!!!
