My NAJA Sisters

Several years ago, I was asked by a friend to join the Junior Auxiliary of Independence County. I was a little hesitant, because I didn't want to do anything that would take time away from my family. I thought it was mostly a social organization not a service organization, but I was happy to learn that JAIC did great things for the children in Independence County. I enjoyed serving five years as an active member. My life was changed as I helped change the lives of others.

During my last year in JAIC, I met an unbelievably strong and passionate woman who volunteered at the national level for the organization. She led me to begin my service at the national level. I have been serving as a Chapter Support Coordinator for the chapters in Northeast Arkansas for three years now. I absolutely love every minute of it!!! I have met the most remarkable women over the past three years. Each one has touched my life in a very special way. We are truly like one big family. We have so much in common since we all want to volunteer and make a difference in the lives of children and families. My NAJA Sisters mean the world to me! They have been there through prayer, phone calls, emails, cards, and much more over the past three years as I watched my grandmother try to recover from a stroke and be put into a nursing home . . . as I prayed for my brother's safety while serving two tours in Iraq. . . as I dealt with excruciating back pain after my wreck in 2005 . . . and much more! They were there and continue to be there every step of the way cheering me on, lifting me up, and supporting me through prayer and friendship. They mean more to me than I will ever be able to say. They truly are some of the most remarkable women I have ever met and I feel honored and blessed to call them my friends!
