Lance just finished his first year of t-ball. I think the entire family had a blast. Scott helped coach. I was "Dug Out Mom" which meant I had to control the 16 boys waiting to bat . . . sounds fun, right? T-ball these days consists of 5, 6, & 7 year olds being pitched the ball. The coach throws three pitches . . . if they don't hit it off the pitch then they get to use the tee. Lance got the game ball at their second game. The coach named him MVP for the night. Lance managed to hit the ball off a pitch, stopped a ball, and most importantly paid attention. Most of the boys spent their time looking for bugs, throwing dirt, and having big conversations in the outfield. We had a losing season, but I don't think the boys had any idea. They just loved playing. They also loved getting a dollar at the end of the game which they got to spend at the concession stand. Lance was really proud of his trophy. He has spent days trying to find just the right spot in the house to display his trophy. Life is so exciting through a five-year-old's eyes!!!
