Spring Break in Colorado

We just got back from spending Spring Break in Colorado Springs! Mom, Dad, Scott, Lance, and I loaded up last Saturday and headed to Colorado Springs to visit Chris, Stef, Morgan, and Gavin. We had a wonderful visit and great time!

Our trip was rather eventful! We had a flat tire on Saturday, so we purchased a new tire in some random place in Fort Smith. On Sunday, we had yet ANOTHER flat tire (no I am not kidding) but we had this one repaired at a Wal-Mart in Trinidad, New Mexico. We finally arrived at Chris and Stef's house late Sunday afternoon.

While we were in Colorado, we hung out with some of Chris and Stefanie's friends who were visiting. Dad, Scott, Chris, Morgan, Lance, and I drove to the top of Pike's Peak on Tuesday. It was amazing!!! On Wednesday, the weather was not great so we went to an indoor fun park, Mr. Bigg's. It was unbelievable . . . 18 hole miniature golf course, bowling alley, bumper cars, go-karts, bouncy houses, arcade, pizza buffet, pirate ship, sand pit in a cave, . . . well you get the picture! It was fun and the kids loved it! On Thursday, the blizzard hit! I have experienced my first blizzard now! It snowed all day so Chris orchestrated a Wii Bowling Tournament! Scott won . . . Nana came in 2nd place! We were snowed in at Chris and Stef's and had to spend the night. On Friday, we did a little shopping after the snow started to melt. Chris, Mom, and I played in the snow with Morgan and Lance. We had a lot of fun! I have never been in snow so deep!

The best part of the trip was spending time with the family! We got to meet adorable little Gavin! He is too cute and so loveable! As Lance says, "he is my favorite"! Lance loves that Gavin would hold his finger every time he put it in his hand. We thoroughly enjoyed Morgan! She is too cute and too funny! We got to watch her at gymnastics! She cracked us up with all her excitement! Stef, Chris, Scott, and I got to enjoy a night out alone while Mom and Dad watched the kids. We ate at my favorite restaurant, Carraba's! I was so happy! Morgan, Stef, Lance, and I went swimming in the hotel pool one night. We laughed so much and really had a good time just being with family.

The weather kept us from sight-seeing but it allowed us to do the most important thing - spend time with each other! We were sad to leave especially knowing that Chris will leave for his deployment to Afghanistan in May. Morgan, Stef, and Gavin plan to come visit us this summer so we are looking forward to that time together!
