Hurry, Hurry . . . Step Right Up!

For his birthday, Mom and Dad bought Lance tickets to the Ringling Brothers and Barnum & Bailey Circus. So yesterday, Scott, Dad, Mom, Lance, and I all headed to Alltel Arena in Little Rock to see the circus.

There was an "All Access Pre-Show" which was held an hour before the circus started. It was pretty neat. All of the circus acts were out practicing. They even allowed kids to join in. The kids could put on circus attire, hang on the trapeze, and meet all of the performers - it was pretty cool! Lance was a bit overwhelmed I think. He walked around a little, but decided that he wanted to check it out from our seats. Mom got great 5th row seats so we did have a good view.

Lance had a ball buying "junk" before the circus even started. We bought a program so that the peformers could autograph it. Well, it came with a flashing clown nose. Then he said he wanted a snow cone. We quickly discovered that he really wanted the clown cup that it came in, so Mom ate the snow cone. He wanted cotton candy, which didn't bother me because it is my favorite. The cotton candy came with a big top hat. He just "had to have" some light up toy to hold during the circus. Then he thought he needed a plush elephant. And of course since he is so into coloring and drawing, we couldn't go away without getting the circus coloring book.

The circus was pretty good! It was geared more toward little kids. It was just not what I was expecting, because Mom and Dad took Chris and me when we were little. We saw the three-ring circus with Gunther Gable Williams. It was awesome! Lance, not knowing what he was missing, enjoyed this circus just fine! I think he favorite part was the clowns. He also said he liked the elephants. Dad's favorite was the Bengal Tigers. Mom and I enjoyed this clown who did tricks on a bicycle. (Check out the "itty-bitty bike" he is riding through the ring of fire) Scott enjoyed himself as well. I think we are all still kids at heart!

Even though it was a one-ring circus, we still got to see a lot. They had clowns, elephants, tigers, tight rope walkers, jugglers, gymnasts, and then all the thrilling/dangerous acts. A good time was definitely had by all!
